Organizational security includes a variety of proactive activities aimed at maintaining the routine activities of the organization, preserving its assets, and protecting its employees, guests, and facilities from attempts by hostile elements to harm them. It also includes preventing theft and embezzlement and thwarting attempts to sabotage the organization’s assets or use them without authorization. Moreover, a security plan developed for an organization will allow it to function in an emergency and quickly resume day-to-day operations upon completion. Effective security creates deterrence without constraining the daily operations or frustrating its employees or visitors.
