FAQ

Q: What distinguishes Sapere in the security sector?

A: By combining Israeli and American experience, Sapere creates a holistic enterprise security management model that balances American cultural values, business systems and expectations, with Israeli security experience detecting and protecting against risks and vulnerabilities.

Sapere’s leadership includes some of Israel’s most decorated security professionals; and their expertise is the result of first-hand experience. That’s why Sapere can address the full range of adversary threats, whether they intend to harm an organization, take human lives, sabotage a business’s assets, or interfere with an industry’s daily activities. Sapere’s experience ranges from protecting national infrastructure to small companies, meaning no job is too big or too small.

Q: What is the difference between risk assessment and risk management?

A: Risk assessment is the process of identifying potential threats relevant to the organization. The outcome is a risk prioritization equation that serves as the roadmap for a customized security concept and plan. Risk management is what follows. It ensures that the security plan succeeds in the face of threats while making the best use of resources, allowing the organization to continue its daily operations, while maintaining a friendly environment for employees, customers, and visitors.

Depending on the size and scope of activity, Sapere can implement a risk assessment and management program anywhere from a few days for a facility the size of a hotel or shopping center to a few months for a city or multi-branch organization.

Q: Do you supply both security personnel TRAINING and security technology?

A: Yes. Some of Sapere’s turnkey products include:

  • Security Manager Library that details the action plan and includes all of the components of security (manpower, technology, order of operations):

  • Doctrine

  • Security Concept

  • Security Plan

  • Layout Implementation

  • Emergency Plan

  • Manuals

  • Regulations

  • Supervise the purchase and installation of security technologies

  • Define security personnel roles; oversee security hiring and design training programs

  • Implementation of security plan

  • Establish and implement routine and emergency security systems

  • Support and monitor security systems

  • Continual maintenance, security awareness and training

Q: Our organization already has security measures in place. How does Sapere add value?

A: One of Sapere’s greatest strengths is our familiarity with emerging threats, counter-intelligence, and methods of attack that may not be familiar to traditional US security providers. Thankfully, American experience with both terrorists and internal adversaries has still been limited compared to Israel. In fact, this is why top United States law enforcement agencies often travel to Israel for training. Our breadth of expertise simply cannot be matched. And Sapere’s training can be incorporated into existing security protocols to build depth and resilience.

Q: Can Sapere recommend sufficient security protocols even though our organization does not allow firearms around our facility?

A: Yes. Sapere’s proactive security approach does not necessarily involve firearms, as our approach to security is based on preventative, proactive measures. In most cases, emergency preparedness requires non-combat operations.

Q: Why do we need Sapere if we have strong local law enforcement?

A: The best way to deal with emergencies is to prevent them from happening in the first place. Local law enforcement is not responsible for securing or guarding a specific organization or site – nor, for implementing preventative measures. Your organization is solely responsible for the safety of employees, customers, and visitors to your property. If and when an emergency occurs, law enforcement offers reactionary services, and they have many different roles to perform – from executing public safety measures to addressing the media – that are not necessarily related to your immediate needs.

Q: Does Sapere work with the Department of Homeland Security and other law enforcement agencies?

A: No. We are a civilian-based business. However, Sapere communicates with law enforcement agencies and all activities are executed in accordance with U.S. law, regulations, guidelines, and authorities.

Q: Does Sapere use “profiling” methodologies?

A: No.  Sapere relies on Behavioral Pattern Recognition, or BPR, as opposed to “profiling,” which simply targets individuals based on race or ethnicity.

Q: Our organization values our open environment. Does Sapere recommend implementing a fortress with fences, metal detectors and other intimidating security measures?

A: No. Sapere’s premise is that intelligent security balances effective security measures with a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Security done right should not be visible.

Q: Will Sapere train our organization's employees in security? What does training cost?

A: Yes. Training programs are an integral part of Sapere’s services. The cost is determined by the duration of the training and the number of participants. Training is less expensive when it is part of a comprehensive security plan.

Q: Our organization is concerned about rising insurance premiums. If we implement Sapere’s recommended security protocols, will it reduce our rates?

A: Sapere knows that rising insurance rates and new “active assailant” lines makes businesses even more vulnerable. That’s why we are working with insurance carriers to reduce your costs. Please contact us to see how you might benefit.

Q: Will Sapere’s recommendations require costly upgrades?

A: Sapere strives to improve existing systems and integrate them into an upgraded plan. We are always mindful of our clients’ resources and are focused on delivering robust, but affordable solutions. Our training programs can be integrated into most organization’s existing plans so no additional investment should be necessary. Sapere makes hardware and technology recommendations based on our physical security risk assessment, always remaining mindful of our client’s budget.
